We are committed to help your puppy or kitten grow healthy. We offer initial examinations and vaccinations along with nutritional counseling and tips to keep your furry friends healthy.

Puppies and kittens need series of vaccines every 3-4 weeks until they are 14-16 weeks of age. It is less important how many vaccinations they receive and more important that they receive them in a timely fashion until they are at least 14 to 16 weeks old. We offer a discounted exam fee after the first initial exam with boosters for puppies and kittens.

Fecal Examinations

A large percentage of puppies and kitten have intestinal parasites. Most can’t be seen without a microscope. Fecal examination and Giardia screen are very important because some of these parasites can be transmitted to humans.

Heartworm Prevention

Both cats and dogs are susceptible to heartworms which are transmitted through mosquito bites. Even pets that are kept exclusively indoors are at risk (since mosquitoes get in the house). Usually, at their first visit, both dogs and cats will be started on heartworm prevention. This needs to be continued throughout their lives.

Overall Health Training

Kittens should be tested for two deadly viral diseases – Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and Feline Leukemia. Kittens are more likely to have leukemia which can mean a much shorter lifespan. It is a good idea to know that early on.

Both puppies and kittens can have some challenges with housebreaking, biting (meant in play), chewing and diet. We are here to answer those questions. Please ask!
